I started out asking Gwen to proofread a couple of PowerPoint presentations that I had prepared for clients. I quickly discovered that her market research experience, combined with her journalism background, brought considerably more value to the table than I had anticipated. Besides finding a couple of typos in those first jobs, she also made excellent suggestions for clarifying or simplifying some of the wording and concepts, demonstrating an obvious familiarity with market research terminology. I began writing my memoirs in 1993, adding commentaries over the next 23 years. I frequently went off on tangents from the timeline, which made for challenging editing before it could go into print.
